Calvinist Myths

My friend Nathan Finn, professor of church history at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, is leading a seminar at the upcoming Building Bridges conference on common misconceptions/stereotypes/myths about Calvinism.  He is asking for Southern Baptists to comment on his post linked here with any mischaracterizations of Calvinism which they have encountered.  There is already a growing list, so please go over and contribute.

  1. Calvin was a man who perpetrated lies and took the Bible out of context, sowing seeds of false doctrine which have impacted many religious denominations to their detrement. He is a man who began an “ism” calvinism a mans “take” on the Bible. His works a devilish to a large extent and misleading.
