The second message was by Bro. Howard Estep and he again preached all over the house (literally) on Ephesians 2:11-22 on the subject of Christ’s reconciliation of Jews and Gentiles into one body. He once again showed a great grasp of Scripture and how the Bible fits together, plus he’s a lot of fun!
Today is a day dedicated to working on selections for the Hercules Collins volume. I hope to get a lot done today.
Tomorrow dad and I head to Marianna, FL (five hour drive) to attend the Southeast Regional meeting of the Evangelical Theological Society. I am scheduled to present a paper on “Use or Influence? John Calvin and the Cappadocians”. We are also planning to meet for lunch in Tallahassee with fellow pastor and blogger Gordon Cloud. We look forward to a great time of fellowship!
I’m not sure what is going to happen Sunday. Surprisingly, no one has snatched me up to preach for them. :) I may have to settle for hearing my dad preach!
Steve,
I’m not sure if you will remember me, but we met in Jackson, TN. I am close friend to Timmy Brister. I am writing you because I am coming to hear your paper tomorrow. I could not have the ever famous Steve Weaver so close to my home and not come hear you teach. I live about and hour and half from Marianna and the president of my alma mater is the Regional head of ETS. What time will you present? Let me know if you know. Thanks, Brad Hughes
Brad,
Of course I remember the famous Brad Hughes. I’ll email you with more details. I look forward to seeing you!
Oops! I don’t have your email address. Email me and I’ll fill you in. Or give me your phone number in the email and I’ll call you (after selling it to telemarketers).
