Russell Moore’s ETS Paper on Gender Roles

Dr. Russell Moore, Dean of the School of Theology at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, delivered an interesting paper at the annual meeting of the Evangelical Theological Society held in Valley Forge, PA a couple of weeks ago. His paper outlines the current status of views on gender in contemporary evangelicalism. His argument is for a partriarchal complementarianism, as opposed to egalitarianism which he says leads toward redefining views of God’s fatherhood and sovereignty. Egalitarianism, in reality, is not as helpful to women and children as partiarchal complementarianism because it does not call men to responsibility.
