Today is the day we honor the military personnel who have given their lives in the defense of our freedom. Some question the legitimacy of war in general and the current war in Iraq in particular. Chuck Colson, however, presents an entirely different and in my opinion correct perspective in his Breakpoint cultural commentary today. The transcript of his comments are available online by clicking the title of the article: “Soldiering Justly”
. In this commentary Colson gives both a theological basis for freedom and a historical Christian defense of “just war.” Take time to read this today and remember the living soldiers as you honor the memory of those who have given their lives for our freedom.

Today is the first day of Vacation Bible School at the church where I pastor. As a result I shared with the teachers today an interesting article by Russell Moore regarding how to teach children Bible stories. The article is titled “Children’s Sunday School and the Battle for the Bible”
and can be read in its entirety by clicking the above link. If you are a parent or a Sunday School teacher I highly recommend that you read this article. Pass it along to others who have the responsible of teaching children the Word of God!
